George Finley, age 64, is accused of murdering 37-year-old Joshua Thomson in a house their shared at 315 Essex Street in Saugus, the Essex County District Attorney said.
A police spokesperson said they received a call around 6:30 a.m. of an "unattended death," but prosecutors changed that determination to homicide after detectives and medical examiners investigated the scene.
Finley will be arraigned on Monday.
